Hi everyone,

I am a DA to Kelley and I held off on submitting the housing application until now (4/25) because I wasn't completely sure I was attending IU until now.

I am very interested in living in the Kelley LLC and listed it as my top preference on the housing app, but I have no idea how difficult it is to be selected to live there or if the date I submitted the app is going to hurt my chances. I believe my essay responses on the housing app were very good FWIW.

If I get a 3 on AP Micro, would I still get college credit for the course? Because on the website, a 3 gives you "ECON-UN 100" while a 4/5 gives you "ECON-E-201". Are those courses the same or different? I am in Kelley btw

Hello, I am currently a senior in the Kelley School of Business and will graduate in May 2019. I have been active on this forum for many years, and I wanted to try to make one post containing everything I have learned about Kelley over the last 4 years. This guide is designed for incoming freshmen and will hopefully help people make good decisions at IU. Hi, I got in Indiana in the Pre-Business Div, and have declared my major as finance. I currently have 3 C's, 2 A's and 1 B. Will I get rescinded?

Im a junior. Im worrying that I wont get into my safety school. I really want to go to that safety school though for many reasons. Is their a chance i get rejected. Im applying for Indiana University

Hi all. I will be attending IU Bloomington this fall with a major in Media and a minor in Music Scoring for Visual Media. To my understanding, this minor is pretty new, and I cannot find much advice regarding my issue.

According to Jacob's website (https://bulletins.iu.edu/iub/college/2017-2018/distinctions-opportunities/outside-opportunities/music.shtml), there are two acceptable combinations of prerequisites for the minor. Either:

a) MUS-Z 111 Introduction to Music Theory I and MUS-Z 211 Music Theory II; or
b) MUS-T 109 Rudiments of Music I and MUS-T 151 Music Theory and Literature I.

I have a few questions about this information.

1) What is the difference between MUS-Z 111 and MUS-T 151? Both descriptions sound pretty similar.
2) Which combination, a or b, would be the better option?
3) If b is the better choice, is it worth completing the Music Fundamentals Online course instead of taking MUS-T 109? To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what "Rudiments of Music" is. All of the classes are described similarly.
4) If anyone has taken any of the 4 classes or MFO, can you please tell me about your experience? Whether or not you enjoyed it, difficulty level, how many times a week you met for the class, etc.

For reference, I played alto saxophone in concert band for 7 years, and I've arranged choral music before, but I wouldn't say I have a higher-than-average understanding of music theory. I couldn't tell you what a 7th chord is if that means anything.

OH and also, if anyone has been apart of the Marching Hundred, is it worth it? Was it fun? Is marching worth continuing into college? Help me out here.

I'm eagerly waiting to hear back from Indiana University for an admissions decision on transferring in the beginning of my sophomore year. I have a 3.94 GPA and involvement so I would be surprised not to be admitted.

I was informed that on campus housing is already full. My concerns of living off campus are that I will be far from classes and find it hard to hard to make friends. I was actually looking forward to spending an additional year in the dorms to make friends. Can anyone advise on where I should look to find a roommate in an apartment near campus that is a student? Are there websites for this? Specific Facebook groups? Also, how do you recommend I make a true connection with the campus when I don't know anyone and will only be on campus for classes? I need to make sure I have a solid friend group and enjoy my surroundings.

On the IU website it states that to automatically be admitted into KSB through Standard Admission, one must have 30 credit hours of college coursework by the end of the semester which you apply. Does those 30 credits include AP credits for gen ed requirements?

How difficult is it to make it to your next class in the fifteen minutes you get? On Mondays I will be going from Wendell to Ernie Pyle, which Google Maps rates as an 11 minute trek. Is this something I should be especially concerned over? Doable or is it worth retooling my schedule to stop it from happening?

I have a situation where I'm going to be taking the AP Environmental Science test at the end of this semester. Depending on how I do may qualify me for 3 credits in a SPEA course, according to IU's website. That said, I'm enrolled for dual credit through Ball State in the class, and transferring that credit, on paper, should earn me the 3 credit hour course GEOG-G 208. This is, at first glance, receiving credit for two classes after taking only one. Is that legitimate, or would IU only allow me to receive credit for one of the two? I'm not sure which would be smarter to take when considering the GenEd rules.

Hey friends! My daughter found out last night that she and her roommate got a 2 bedroom in Union Street Center. She stayed there for orientation and liked it but was wondering if anyone had any additional info on it since it's not a traditional dorm. Just want to make sure she is able to interact with other freshman students and make friends since we are out of state (Massachusetts). Thanks in advance!!

I applied for housing at 4pm the minute it was released. Found out yesterday I was placed in a Briscoe single, after requesting a quad. I never requested a single anywhere on my application and frankly probably can’t afford it. My roommate didn’t hear back about her housing yet. I posted in the Facebook group and a ton of people said the same thing happened to them as well. Does anyone have more information on this? Or ways to resolve it? Is it a glitch because it happened to so many people?
